Useful Information - Khazimula Jewellery

Silver Explained
Karen Silver - Comes from Thailand and is 97-99% Silver. It has higher silver content and therefore much softer and easier to craft. Each individual piece/bead/charm/pendant is handmade. This makes it a dream to work with as no piece will ever be exactly the same. All my Karen Silver I buy direct from Thailand - this ensures its authenticity and at the same time keeps the costs down. As Karen Silver has a higher silver content to Sterling Silver it seems to tarnish less, but it can still be cleaned as you would any other silver.

Sterling Silver - Has a silver content of 92.5%. Normally it is mixed with copper. Sterling Silver is much 'harder' than fine silver so for making rings and 'wearable' and durable jewellery items I prefer to use Sterling Silver.

Bali Silver - Comes from Indonesia and has a silver content of about 92.5-95%. This varies from piece to piece. All the Bali Silver is handmade just as Karen Silver. Once again I try to buy at source to keep the costs down and ensure authenticity.

Precious Metal Clay - This clay is a revolution in jewellery design. It is available in gold, copper, bronze and silver. It comes in clay or paste form and the designer can then sculpt and mould it into various forms and designs. The majority of my silver clay is fired in a kiln. By firing PMC in a kiln it is harder and more durable. Smaller pieces are fired with a blow torch. When fired silver clay is transformed into what is called 'fine silver' which has a silver content of about 99%.

Cleaning your jewellery:
All silver tarnish due to the moisture and chemicals in the air. Every now and again you do need to give your jewellery a bit of a clean. For pieces made from sterling silver or Fine Silver with no stones or other non metal decorations or additions ‘dipping’ in a silver cleaning solution is absolutely fine.

Pieces with stones and other porous additions I would recommend nothing else but a silver polishing cloth and a little elbow grease. Khazimula Jewellery cannot take responsibility for damage to jewellery caused by inappropriate cleaning.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us for help and information.

Returns and Breakages
I am willing to give a full refund for any unworn items up to one month after purchase. This policy does not include earrings which I cannot sell on due to health reasons.

In the rare event that one of my pieces break after purchase due to a design fault on my part I am willing to fix it free of charge up to 6 months after purchase. Any breakages due to obvious negligence and man handling will be fixed at a charge of £6.00 an hour + the cost of materials. This price does not include postage and insurance.

Packaging
The packaging and presentation of your jewellery item is almost as important as the piece itself - it makes it that little bit more special regardless of the price. Great care and attention has gone into the design of my packaging which is all environmentally friendly. Packaging is included as standard.

The Ordering Process
Upon ordering a piece from any range featured on the Khazimula Jewellery website, books or any representative a 50% deposit or full payment is required at the time of order. This is purely to cover the cost of materials.

Payments in the UK can be done through Paypal (hedgersuk@aol.com), cheque, cash or a bank transfer. Please note that work will only be undertaken once the payment has cleared in the account.

Payments in South Africa are done via EFT, cash or cheque. Banking details are available from the South African representative.

Any personalised pieces of jewellery will be photographed and sent via e-mail to the client for approval upon completion. We request that the client study the photographs carefully, for spelling errors, design errors or any other requests that were made. If you have any questions or queries at this stage, we ask that you get in touch immediately before the items are sent. This gives Janina the opportunity to either rectify the problem or explain the reason why it was done a certain way before the item is sent. In failing to reply or respond to an e-mail we will automatically assume that the client is happy and the item will be sent as is.

No personalised piece of jewellery can be sold on so we ask that you please comply with this condition. Confirmation and approval will be an automatic commitment to full purchase and full payment upon receipt of the item. No returns will be accepted after approval except for details that is not apparent on a photograph such as a ring size. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Postage
All GBP (£) prices quoted on this website include postage within the UK. Postage costs to mainland Europe is an additional £3.00 per shipment up to 3 items. Please note that this does not include insurance.

All ZAR (Rand) prices quoted on this website include all the postage from the UK to South Africa including VAT and all Import Duties. If you are shopping in South Africa please contact the South African representative as this is the most cost effective way of buying from the range because of the fact that shipments are done in bulk. It will be more expensive buying one item direct from the UK due to postage costs and it is still subject to Duties and VAT which would be payable on top of the cost of the item in Pound.

ZAR (Rand) prices exclude internal postage within South Africa. Please contact us if you need a price for domestic postage.
