Khazimula Jewellery Autumn News

And here we find ourselves slap bang in the middle of the Autumn term. I have found it quite difficult getting back into the early morning school run routine… But wait, let’s not dwell – look at the positive side of autumn – beautiful colours, long cozy evenings, halloween and brisk frosty walks. Oh yes, and looking forward to Christmas with all the joy and cheer of that time of year!

The website has finally had a long overdue update featuring some really lovely new designs. The break over the summer has really helped to get the creative juices flowing again.

The fairy collection has really grown too with most of the new designs available on the website online shop and at a lovely little flower shop just down the road. I do hope they do well in there – I can’t think of a more perfect environment for them to get up to mischief in!

The Christmas order list is now open. All pieces are handmade to order in my studio so if you would like a piece commissioned for Christmas please do not delay. I would hate to disappoint and do not like making things under pressure at the very last minute (mmmmmm boyz ?) I am not going to make a waiting list or queuing system as I know a lot of bespoke designers do – I am simply going to take it as it comes. For guidance all Christmas orders for posting outside the UK need to be placed before 22 November. This will allow for a little extra time on delivery as the postal system does experience large quantities of post that time of the year worldwide. Severe weather conditions can also have an impact on delivery … So please do keep all of this in mind. For delivery in the UK please place orders before 2nd December. Commissions can take a tad longer during this time, so please allow for this too.

Specially for Christmas I have thought of creating something that can be enjoyed by the whole family for many Christmases to come. These will also make super and very original Xmas gifts, especially for those ‘hard to buy for ones’

‘Fairy Christmas’ (Christmas tree decoration) is a sterling silver Fairy on an upside down flower pot bell. This piece is made entirely from sterling silver and can be personalised along the edge of the bell. Perhaps for a baby’s first Christmas with a name and date of birth, a first Christmas as a couple (married/engaged), or simply have the family names stamped around the edge. The possibilities are truly endless with the opportunity to make Fairy Christmas your own and a family heirloom to be enjoyed for generations to come. Fairy Christmas measures approx 30x20mm but as each one is handmade they will all be slightly different.

‘A Penny for your Christmas Thoughts’ (Christmas pudding coins). As a child I remember my grandmother hiding coins in the Christmas pudding. We all ate our pudding simply to find a coin – not because we particularly enjoyed the pudding! Sadly this old Christmas tradition is dying out because we either don’t eat Xmas pudding any more, don’t bake it ourselves but mostly because our money now contains nickel which is poisonous… Well, not any more! I have come up with a fantastic solution! Made using Fine silver I have created a collection of six coins, that are not poisonous, can be carefully pushed into a shop bought pudding, or strategically placed in any portion of your favourite pudding. If you are one of those who still bake and boil your pudding, well these can be cooked in your pudding too! To make them a little fun the collection this year all feature a Christmas tree. There is one ‘perfect’ Christmas tree with the rest all having something ‘wrong’… Who will find the right Christmas tree and win the spare cracker?
The coins are all the size of an English Penny. Please note that the coins are not edible and can be a choke hazard so please be responsible when using them in your pudding. I would not recommend doing this with very small children.
Why not personalise your coins with the family name round the edge of the ‘perfect’ Christmas tree coin?

Both the Fairy Christmas and Penny for your Christmas thoughts are now available for purchase on the website. Please allow plenty time as these are made to order.

Enjoy Autumn and all it has to offer. I’ll be back with a little news just before Christmas. Please remember that you can be treated on a daily basis on the Facebook Page with a pic of the day, and of course new designs are almost always featured on the Facebook Page first.
